A couple of years ago, people would have scoffed at the idea of Chippendale being an up and coming neighbourhood. However, due to the massive refurbishment that has taken place in the area, Chippendale has redefined itself as THE neighbourhood to keep an eye out for.

With the transformation of old warehouses into breathtaking art galleries, Chippendale’s art scene is flourishing. From the White Rabbit Gallery— home to one of the world’s largest collection of Chinese contemporary art— to the smaller, independent galleries found at the corner of every street, this humble neighbourhood has managed to carve a name out for itself in the art world. This, together with the countless number of eateries and swanky bars that have popped up in the area, has attracted a new crowd of young, art-conscious dwellers to the neighbourhood.

After all, what’s better than having Kensington Street at your doorstep or spending your Sunday mornings strolling down Brewery Yard Markets?

Here at Liveable, we’ve put together a nifty infographic to help you get to know the neighbourhood a little better.
